G proteini posreduju brojne ćelijske procese. Protein kodiran ovim genom pripada RGS familiji (regulatora G-proteinske signalizacije) i specifično formira interakcije sa G proteinom, GAI3. Ovaj protein je aktivirajući protein guanozin trifosfataze koji deluje putem umanjivanja Galfa i/Galfa q posredovane signalizacije.[2][3]
