Hidroliza mišjeg Ren2 proteina (vrste prorenina prisutnog u submandibularnoj žlezdi) na karboksi strani argininskog ostatka u Lys-Arg- paru u N-terminusu, čime se formira maturisani renin

Ovaj enzim je specifičan za prorenin iz mišje submandibularne žlezde, dok prorenin iz mišjeg bugrega i ljudski prorenin nisu supstrati.
