- 3beta-hidroksisteroid + NADP+ 3-oksosteroid + NADPH + H+
Ovaj enzim deluje na višestruke 3beta-hidroksisteroide. On učestvuje u biosintezi zemosterol i holesterola, pri čemu katalizuje reakciju u suprotnom smeru od prikazanog. Enzim sisara je bifunkcionalan i takođe deluje kao EC 1.1.1.62, 17beta-estradiol 17-dehidrogenaza.
