Ovaj enzim iz Apium graveolens]] (celera) oksiduje alditole sa minimalnim zahtevom za 2R hiralnost ugljenika susednog primarnom ugljeniku koji podleže oksidaciji. Ovaj enzim je specifičan za NAD+ i ne koristi NADP+.
