RGS7 se nalazi u povišenoj koncentraciji u mozgu, gde deluje kao universalni inhibitor Gi/o-spregnutih GPCR. RGS7 je aktivirajući protein GTPaze (GAP). On ubrzava GTP hidrolizu na G proteinima, čime određuje njihovu brzu inaktivaciju. Isto tako deluje kao intraćeliski antagonist GPCR signalizacije.[3]

Interacije uredi

Pokazano je da RGS7 formira interakcije sa GPR158,[4]PKD1,[5] GNB5[6][7] i SNAPAP.[8]
