James Cruze

James Cruze (okolica Ogdena u Utahu, 27. mart 1884 – Hollywood, 3. august 1942) bio je američki filmski glumac i režiser, koji je djelovao u doba nijemog filma.

O njegovom ranom životu ima prilično malo podataka, a sam Cruze je u različitim intervjuima davao kontradiktorne podatke. Zna se da se rodio kao Jens Vera Cruz Bosen u mormonskoj porodici, kao i da je srednje ime dobio po opsadi Veracruza u američko-meksičkom ratu. Nakon adolescencije, međutim, nije prakticirao mormonsku vjeru. Karijeru je započeo na Istoku u ranim filmskim studijama kao što su Lubin Manufacturing Company te Thanhouser Company. Za potonji je kao glumac snimio najveći broj filmova i postao jedna od njegovih zvijezda. Napustio ju je 1916. godine, te kao režiser i producent radio za nekoliko hollywoodskih studija, uglavnom Paramount Pictures.

Bio je oženjen tri puta - od 1913. do 1923. za glumicu Marguerite Snow, sa kojom je imao kćerku. od 1925. do 1930. je bio u braku s glumicom Betty Compson. Pred smrt se oženio za Beatrice McCoy.
