'''Cinerama''' je proces za prikazivanje slike u [[widescreen]] formatu koji se sastoji od simultanog prikazivanja tri sinkronizirana projektora 35 mm filma na veliki i udubljeni ekran pod kutem od 146°. Postupak je patentirala korporacija Cinerama. Predstavljao je prvi od inovativnih tehnika prikazivanja filmova razvijenih 1950-ih, kada se filmska industrija u SAD i drugdje u svijetu prvi put suočila sa ozbiljnom konkurencijom od novog medija televizije. Cinerama je tadašnjoj publici bila predstavljena kao spektakularni događaj, odnosno predstave filmova u Cinerami su trebale predstavljati predstave u najprestižnijim teatrima.
 
Ekran Cinerame je, umjesto jedinstvene površine kao drugi ekrani, napravljen od stotina vertikalnih traka perforiranog materijala širine oko 22 mm, pri čemu je svaki od njih pod drukčijim kutem u odnosu na publiku, pa se tako spriječava razbacivanje svjetlosti sa jednog dijela zaobljenog ekrana na drugi.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.widescreenmuseum.com/widescreen/wingcr2.htm |title=Cinerama |publisher=www.widescreenmuseum.com |accessdate=12. Originalni sistem je zahtijevao snimanje filmova sa tri sinkronizirane kamere. Kasnije je odbačen u korist sistema koji je koristio jednu kameru i film od 70 mm. Time je nestao originalna panorama od 146° i rezolucija je bila niža. Cinerama nije koristila [[anaformička leća|anaformičke leće]], iako su ih dva kasnija sistema od 70mm ([[Ultra Panavision 70]] i Super [[Technirama]] 70) koristila Kasnije su se razvile posebne leće koje su ih učinile kompatibilnima sa sistemom [[CinemaScope]].
