Coxarthrosis or arthrosis deformans coxae is an often coxae desease od old people. We distinguish between primary and secondary coxarthrosis.
Primary(essential or idiopathic arthrosis) occurs in old age because wear and regeneration, which is slowed and reduced system. It is manifected by narrowing of the joint space, thinning and fragmentation of the articular cartilage ,and later subchondral and bone tissue.
The secondary is due to some known causative factor, which in some way mechanically damages the joint (dysplastic arthrosis, arthrosis that occurs after inflammation, epiphysolysis, injury and tumor). The patient feels severe pain in the hips when walking, difficult climbing up and down stairs).
Functional physiotherapy consist of kinesitherapy, physical procedures, and ASG teaching.
Kinesitherapy-exercises for maintaining joint mobility, exercises for strenghtening the muscles of the back and inside of the knee, exercises for stretching the muscles of the front and outside of the knee, exercises of balance and endurance.
Physical procedures-TENS,IFS,ultrasound,laser,magnet,swimming,underwater massage and water exercises.
The symptoms that a person feels depend on the progression of the disease. The most common reason for a patient to appear is pain.Becouse pain is a subjective experience ,target questions need to be answered correctly. You shoukd orient yourself if the pain is sharp, dull, pulsating. At what time of day it occurs wheather the character changes during loading or pressing.Characteristic of coxarthrosis are the pain depend on the process itself. At first, she was vague and muffled.Subjective problems arise at the beginning of the walk and then subside. It is characteristic of the so-called.Starting pain, pain after a long rest, the person hardly expands after prolonged sitting or lying down, and pain when comming down stairs or activities that do not lead to large contractions of the muscles and the joint does not have their protection.
Treatment can be:
-physical therapy-hydrotherapy(allows for law-load joint movements),a functional exercise program(relaxing exercises and then strenghtening the joint stabilizer muscles) and electrotherapy(most analgesic).
