Vladali su, po Strabonovim navodima, drevnim makedonskim klanom također poznatim kao Argeadi. Nakon smrti [[Aleksandar IV od Makedonije|Aleksandra IV]] 309. pne. vlast nad Makedonijom je preuzela [[dinastija Antipatrida]].
