'''Hans Walter Conrad Veidt''' (22. januar 1893 – 3. april 1943) bio je [[Njemačka|njemački]] filmski glumac, koji se smatra jednom od najvećih filmskih zvijezda u međuratnom periodu. Iako se glumom počeo baviti slučajno, oporavljajući se od rana zadobivenih u [[prvi svjetski rat|prvom svjetskom ratu]], brzo je iskoristio novi medij filma i nametnuo se ulogom Cesarea u filmu ''[[Kabinet dr. Caligarija]]'', a nakon čega je slijedio niz ključnih ostvarenja [[njemački filmski ekspresionizam|njemačkog filmskog ekspresionizma]]. Veidt se lako prilagodio tranziciji na [[zvučni film]] i do 1933. stekao status najbolje plaćenog glumca studija [[Universum Film AG|UFA]]. Međutim, kada su u Njemačkoj na vlasti došli nacisti, odlučio je emigrirati u znak solidarnosti sa svojim [[jevrej]]skim kolegama te došao u [[UK|Veliku Britaniju]] gdje je na kraju dobio i državljanstvo. Posljednje godine života je proveo koristeći svoj ugled, ali i bogatstvo stečeno glumačkim honorarima, kako bi poticao borbu protiv nacističkom režima; u isto vrijeme je, pak, na filmu tumačio uloge nacista, uključujući možda najpoznatiju - majora Strassera u popularnom filmu ''[[Casablanca (film)|Casablanca]]''.
