Sklapanje ruku sa smiješkom uz pozdrav Namaste je uvriježen običaj u Indiji.

Namaste (/ˈnɑːməst/, Devanagari: नमस्ते, Šablon:IPA-hi), nekada izgovaran kao Namaskar ili Namaskaram, je uobičajeno hinduski pozdrav. U današnje vrijeme se koristi na Indijskom podkontinentu, Jugoistočnoj Aziji i među hinduskom dijasporom širom svijeta. Koristi i za pozdrav pri dolasku i odlasku.[1][2] Namaste se obično izgovara uz blagi naklon i sklopljenim rukama, uz spojene dlanove i prste nagore, sa palčevima prema sebi. Gesta se zove i Añjali Mudrā ili Pranamasana.[3]

U hinduizmu označava "Poklanjam se u božanskom u tevi".[4][5][6] Namaste se također može izgovarati bez geste ili gesta izvoditi bez riječi.
