James Watson

Džejms D. Votson (engl. James Watson) (rođen 6. 4.a 1928) je američki molekularni biolog, genetičar, i zoolog. On je najbolje poznat po otkriću strukture DNK 1953. zajedno sa Fransisom Krikom. Votson, Krik, i Moris Vilkins su nagrađeni 1962. Nobelovom nagradom za fiziologiju ili medicinu „za njihova otkrića vezana za molekulsku strukturu nukleinskih kiselina i njihovog značaja za transfer informacija u živim materijalima“.[2] Nakon studija na univerzitetu Čikaga i Indijana univerzitetu, on je radio na univerzitetu u Kembridžu u Kavendišovoj laboratoriji u Engleskoj, gde se upoznao sa budućim saradnikom i prijateljom Fransisom Krikom.

2019 su mu zbog "rasističkih opaski" oduzete sve počasne titule koje je dobio u Kold Spring Harbor laboratoriji (CSHL), gde je radio skoro 40 godina[3].
