Hawkwind je engleski rock bend, poznat kao jedna od najstarijih space rock grupa. Karakteristika teksta njihova pjesama su urbane i science fiction teme. Također su poznati kao preteča punk rocka^[1] i danas se često smatra svojevrsnom poveznicom između hippie i punk kultura.^[2]

Osnovan je u novembru 1969. od strane kantautora i gitarista Dave Brocka, a nakon toga je prošao kroz brojne inkarnacije i muzičke stilove. U grupi su sudjelovali brojni muzičari; fantasy i science fiction pisac Michael Moorcock je bio njen povremeni suradnik.
