Adelard od Batha

Adelard od Batha (latinski: Adelardus Bathensis; engleski: Adelard od Bath; o. 1080 – o. 1152) bio je engleski učenjak, poznat kako po vlastitim doprinosu prirodnim naukama, tako i po prijevod mnogih važnih grčkih i arapskih tekstova na temu astrologije, filozofije, astronomije i matematike sa arapskog na latinski koji su, zahvaljujući tome, od 12. vijeka postali dostupni zapadnoj Evropi. Također je poznat kao prvi učenjak koji je opisao arapske brojeve u Evropi.

Detalj iz rukopisa koji sadrži prijepis Adelardovog prijevoda Euklidovih Elemenata, o. 1309–1316; najstariji sačuvani latinski prijevod Elemenata je Adelardov prijevod arapske verzije iz 12. vijeka.
